A farm system that was parched for prospects when the New York Mets arrived here two years ago is more fully stocked now. And the Mets again did a good job of acquiring minor-league free agents and convincing several players to re-sign and return to the Buffalo Bisons.
So while the 2011 Herd will have plenty of young players on their ascent to the big leagues, virtually all of them have Triple-A experience. It's good news for the Bisons in their first year under manager Tim Teufel. The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees again figure to be the favorite in the International League's North Division, but the Bisons should challenge for a playoff spot.

Tennessee State University golf coach Chip Taylor took that advice. The result will be the addition of Chaminade-Julienne's Dorian Vauls, a firstteam pick on the Division II All-Ohio team, to the TSU roster next fall.
