WASHINGTON, Sept. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Office of Inspector General (OIG) for the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) announced that a Miami, Florida, resident was sentenced on September 2, 2011, to 12 months and one day in prison for his role in a scheme to defraud Ex-Im Bank of more than $1.3 million. The sentencing caps ongoing investigative efforts by the OIG to examine fraudulent exports into South America and elsewhere.
