WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Chuck Canterbury, national president of the Grand Lodge, Fraternal Order of Police, urged all F.O.P. members and other law enforcement officers to contact their Senators and ask them to vote in favor of Senate Amendment 2623, the "Steve Young Law Enforcement Officers' Safety Act," which was offered today to S. 1805, the "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. The amendment is virtually identical to the F.O.P.'s top legislative priority, S. 253, and would exempt qualified active and retired law enforcement officers from State and local prohibitions with respect to the carrying of concealed firearms.

Section 1346 is a controversial but under-examined statute making it a felony to engage in a scheme "to deprive another of the intangible right of honest services."
