Senior Kristen Brooks (Hempfield), junior Jenna Stine (Elizabethtown), sophomores Amanda Burridge (Ephrata) and Sam Langone (Lampeter-Strasburg), and freshmen Danielle Landis (Manheim Central), Carenna Neely (Penn Manor) and Lauren Taylor (Garden Spot) played for Shippensburg in Saturday's 1-0 loss to Massachusetts- Lowell in the NCAA Division II championship game. In Thursday's semifinal match, Langone scored the Raiders' lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Bloomsburg.

GENEVA - The U.N. World Food Program insisted Tuesday it won't reduce emergency aid shipments to Somalia despite allegations of fraud, saying that though such complaints are frequent it doesn't believe there have been big losses.
WFP said it is bringing 5,000 tons a month of food into the Somali capital of Mogadishu to help the famine-hit nation. Tens of thousands of people each week are fleeing famine in Somalia to neighboring Ethiopia and Kenya.

QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS: At Conestoga Valley: At 6 p.m., Section One runner-up Warwick (7-3) vs. Section Two runner-up Garden Spot (9- 2). The Warriors finished alone in second place after being tied with Manheim Township for the No. 2 spot when they beat McCaskey in the final match of the regular season and the Blue Streaks fell to Penn Manor in five games. Warwick is led by by Lauren Sproles, Erin Whitney, Kayley Landis and Jess Geib. Garden Spot, the defending league champion, is led by Lauren Horst, Steph High, Alissa Arment and Julia O'Brien.

, 81, of Landis Homes, went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by her sisters on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Walter M. and Miriam E. Herr Landis. She was a 1948 graduate of the former East Lampeter High School and a member of Mellinger Mennonite Church. She was a secretary at Eastern Mennonite Missions, Salunga, for 24 years and served in church work at Glad Tidings Mennonite Church, Bronx, NY for 18 years.
She is survived by sisters, Helen wife of Abdulla Ali of Lancaster, Clara Landis of Lititz; nephews, Walter husband of Suzan Stillman Ali of Lancaster, Weli husband of Carolyn Sharpe Ali of Lancaster; niece, Hadia wife of Kenneth Shertzer of Lancaster; and grandnephew...
