[El Fundador] Festival de Cine Latino de San Diego del Media Arts Center San Diego se complace en presentar su décima serie cinematografical Cinema en tu Idioma que exhibe el nuevo cine latino Americano, mexicano y español. La serie de 4 meses arranca en agosto con la exhibición de CASI DIVAS, protagnizada entre otros por Maya Zapata, Julio Bracho y Ana Layevska, del 21 al 27 de agosto en el UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center (por la carretera 163 y Friars Rd.). Cinema en tu Idioma 2009 recibe fondos de The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

First comes news that Kamar de los Reyes, husband of Kettering actress Sherri Saum, took home the statue for outstanding performance in a daytime drama during the ALMA Awards, hosted by Eva Longoria in Los Angeles on Sunday, Aug. 17. De los Reyes plays Antonia Vega on ABC's "One Life to Live.
The ALMA Awards were created in 1995 to honor Hispanic performers and promote positive images of Hispanics in entertainment. ALMA stands for American Latino Media Arts and also means "soul" in Spanish.

Media Arts Center San Diego's San Diego Latino Film Festival and Otay Ranch Town Center bring the best of Latin American films to enjoy this September at the 3rd Annual Que Viva! Cine Latino 2009. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month the public is invited to experience a collection of popular Latino films. In addition there will be a Latino art exhibit and live entertainment. Held weekly in September, film screenings and events will take place Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m.to 8:30 p.m.
