The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is considering a proposal to change a portion of the airport from aeronautical use to non-aeronautical use and to authorize the lease of the airport property. The proposal consists of 2 parcels of land with the lease portion totaling approximately 5.4 acres. Current use and present condition is partially developed land compatible with local commercial/ industrial zoning classification. The land was acquired under the FAA Project Numbers 9-20-072-6001, 3-26-0039-02, and 3-26-0055-44208. There are no impacts to the airport by allowing the airport to lease the property, since the land is no longer needed for aeronautical use. Town of Oconomowoc The Town Board voted unanimously Monday against a zoning change needed to permit construction of a 43-acre subdivision that area farmers and farmland preservation advocates have opposed vigorously for more than a year.
But the Waukesha County Board will have the final say on the developer's request to change the zoning in the county's master land- use plan from an agricultural classification to allow residential use. The proposed subdivision hugs a section of the Ashippun River and also is under county shore land zoning restrictions.

TROY -- A proposed development tool to help preserve Miami County farmland and open space -- called for by county planning and zoning commissioners in 2002 -- is taking shape after several delays.
A county land use steering committee March 8 reviewed proposed wording for a conservation planned unit development zoning classification. The committee appeared to like the overall concept put together by consultants Poggemeyer Design Group, but said the proposal needs to be more user friendly.
