WHITTIER - Officials Wednesday added the names of two law enforcement officers who laid down their lives in the line of duty last year to a peace officers' memorial. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Charlene "Charlie" Rottler and California Highway Patrol Officer Philip Ortiz joined 477 other fallen law enforcement officers listed on the Los Angeles County Peace Officers' Memorial Wall at the Sheriff's Training Academy and Regional Services Center in unincorporated South Whittier.

A Los Angeles County Court Commission laid down the law to Britney Spears on Tuesday, saying there was evidence that the pop star was "a habitual, frequent and continuous" user of drugs and alcohol and ordered mandatory, random biweekly drug tests.
