NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A recent investigation conducted by China Labor Watch (CLW) has uncovered numerous labor violations at the Rushan Alice Garments Company, LTD., a supplier factory of the American retailing company Target. The factory, located in Weihai, Shandong province, was audited by CLW investigators in August, 2011. In the investigation, CLW discovered numerous violations of the Chinese labor laws and regulations and Target's Standards of Vendor Engagement. A former deli manager claims in a federal class-action lawsuit filed Wednesday in Pittsburgh that Giant Food Stores is violating federal labor laws by not paying its managers overtime.
Brenda Blystone of Kittanning says in the lawsuit that the company would send her home and pay her less than her "guaranteed" salary when sales were slow but only pay her straight time when she worked 50 to 60 hours in a week.

LOS ANGELES, April 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A Chinese factory that supplies products to Disney and Tesco was found to have violated local labor laws due to its practices, such as forcing employees to work an excessive amount of overtime with a serious lack of workplace security.
Employees are required to work for 13.5 hours per day during peak seasons between January and February. Employees are at the factory for at least 96 hours per week while working for at least 81 hours, with mandatory overtime on Saturdays and sometimes on Sundays.
