UNITED STATES v. KNIGHTS
CERTIORARI TO THE UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE NINT...
-
MIDLOTHIAN - You make your dream work by starting with teamwork. No one understands that better than the Maggie Walker Governor's School and Thomas Dale field hockey teams.
For the past three years, the Group AAA Central Region crown has come from the winner of the MWGS-Thomas Dale region contest. Last year, the Dragons en route to the title knocked off the Knights.
-
HARRINGTON Austin Schoppee's fielder's choice grounder to second scored Ryan Hatt with the winning run for host Narraguagus with one out in the bottom of the seventh and the Knights edged Sumner of East Sullivan 6-5 in Tuesday baseball action.
Hatt walked to lead off the inning and stole second. Kim Jordan doubled and singled for the 4-2 Knights. David Grant added an RBI double.
-
RICHMOND -- You might say it has been a very good year for Thomas Dale athletics.
To date, the Knights own a state title in football, a Central Region title in field hockey and Central District crowns in golf, cross country and boys volleyball.
-
The Notre Dame-West Haven boys' basketball team has had losing seasons before. In fact, longtime head coach Gary Palladino remembers his worst record: 5-15 in the 2003-04 season. But this season could end up being worse. The Green Knights have lost their first eight games and have eighth-ranked Career coming to West Haven tonight for a Southern Connecticut Conference interdivision game, followed by Fairfield Prep Friday night for a SCC Quinnipiac Division tilt.
This is very painful, very tough and very frustrating," said Palladino, now in his 30th year at Notre Dame and 44th in coaching. "I am getting criticized. I am a very sensitive guy. This is not going to go away and I will deal with it.
-
The phrases "well run" and "good times" are common at cross- country meets. In a sport where time is everything, those words usually refer to athletic performances.
At Saturday's eighth annual Knights Crossing Invitational, held at Green Hill Park in Salem, those words not only were fitting for many runners' efforts, they also were appropriate for the event's management and spectator enjoyment.
-
CHESTER - All the Thomas Dale team had to do was win last night to capture the Central District title and automatic post-season berth.
Just a simple matter of taking care of business. Well, the Knights celebrated Senior Night in fine fashion and punched its playoff ticket at the same time.
-
NOTE: Northridge finished with a 9-3 overall record in 2010 and a 6-2 mark in Region 1. The Knights lost to Bingham in the 5A state quarterfinals.
LAYTON -- That great philosopher and former Alabama All-American running back, Forrest Gump, would've liked hanging out with this year's Northridge High football team.
-
DINWIDDIE - With the bye week out of the way, and all of the Central District football teams entering Week 6 of the season, it is a tad early for a must-win game.
But the Thomas Dale-Dinwiddie Friday night showdown had all the markings of a key game for both teams. If it wasn't a must-win situation at least it felt like it.
-
PREP FOOTBALL: Notre Dame stays unbeaten with dominant showing.
SHERMAN OAKS - A Taft defensive lineman tripped over his own feet as the Toreadors ran onto the field at Notre Dame Stadium.
