I must comment on the April 9 story, OWhat must God think? Anti- abortion activists speak out.O It seems that a lot of Christian people claim to know. There is no statement in the Jewish Bible nor in the New Testament by God speaking about abortion.

Although I've lived in Portland for four years now, I have never been downtown in June to watch, let alone participate in, the Southern Maine Pride Parade. Two weeks ago, I decided it was time. It was time that I, as a Christian pastor, made my support for equal rights and equal love more public. Valley Hills Funeral Home, Zillah TOPPENISH - Louise Rowe, 87, passed away April 19, 2011, from this world to the kingdom of God.
The dramatic skit performed yesterday during a convention in Columbia could have been about any typical family: A dad tries to juggle extra hours at work, mounting bills and a household that includes two unruly teenagers. But the message had a spiritual side. Dad ultimately learned the family needed to first look to the kingdom of God and that would prove to be enough to overcome the drudgery of daily life.
Jesus the Christ couldn't stop talking about politics. I know it sounds crazy, but please hear me out. What did Jesus talk about more than anything else? Answer: The kingdom of God.
In ten chapters, the author discusses, successively, the baptism of Jesus, his temptation in the desert, his proclamation of the Kingdom of God, his Sermon on the Mount, the Lord's Prayer, his disciples, his parables, the key images of the Gospel of John, the Transfiguration, and-in the final chapter-Jesus' references to himself as "Son of Man," "Son," and, echoing the voice of God from the Burning Bush of Exodus, "I Am." The answer to this question may perhaps best be discerned in his treatment of the Transfiguration, the synoptic story of Jesus' mountaintop meeting with Moses and Elijah, during which the Lord's face, like that of Moses after the revelation on Mount Sinai, radiated a dazzling white light and the voice of God was heard saying from within a cloud, This is my beloved Son.
Because our prophets, seers and revelators are released from office only by death, we don't get to raise our hands to thank them. So as President Gordon B. Hinckley finally has been released from his lifelong calling as the consummate servant in the kingdom of God, here is my vote of thanks for a job well done.
