KIMBALL ELECTRONICS GROUP INC., with headquarters in Jasper, Ind., will manufacture for Avantis Inc. a new disposable Third Eye Retroscope, a catheter-based camera device that works in conjunction with existing colonoscopy equipment. Kimball Electronics' Fremont, Calif., facility is preparing for full-scale manufacturing of the device. The plant is near Avantis' Sunnyvale, Calif., headquarters.

• Kimball Lands Big Contract Jasper Plant to Make Wearable Cameras

A decision by one of the nation's leading technological manufacturers to pull its production of the POV (point of view) wearable digital camera systems from China is a win for Jasper- based Kimball Electronics Group Inc., a subsidiary of Kimball International Inc. Marty Vaught, a Kimball spokesman, said Kimball Electronics is being awarded a major contract by Michigan-based V.I.O. Inc. to produce current and future models of the highly successful tactical camera platform that will be marketed globally.

• Kimball Gets German Contract Jasper Firm Will Build Detection Units

JASPER, Ind. - Kimball Electronics Group Inc., a subsidiary of Kimball International Inc., has signed a contract to build industrial safety hazard detection units for German manufacturer Draeger Safety. Production is scheduled to begin at the Kimball Electronics facility in Jasper in spring 2010.
