WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee suggested in a radio interview that President Barack Obama's childhood in Kenya shaped his worldview -- even though Obama did not visit Kenya until he was in his 20s.
The potential Republican presidential candidate told New York radio station WOR on Monday that Obama's youth led him to resent the West, which he said explains why, in Huckabee's view, Obama's foreign policy differs so greatly from that of his predecessors.

Many people throughout the world celebrated [Barack Obama]'s victory as a significant moment in U.S. history, but perhaps no country was as excited for Obama as Kenya. The home country of Obama's father has followed the Illinois senator's campaign closely, viewing him as one of its own.
At about 7 a.m. local time Nov. 5, with the first rays of dawn just lighting the sky over Nairobi, time stood still in Kenya as the entire country watched televisions or listened to radios and heard that several of the United States' battleground states had indeed gone to Kenya's favorite son, securing Obama enough Electoral College votes to become the next U.S. president.
The president of Kenya, Mwai Kibaki, was among the first to offer Obama his congratulations. Kibaki declared Nov. 6 a holiday in hono...

On Aug. 27, President Mwai Kibaki signed a new constitution for the Republic of Kenya that had been approved in an Aug. 4 referendum. Mr. Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga said, "All Kenyans won on this matter." Unfortunately, there are compelling reasons to fear that may not be true.
I, together with many others, was counting on a new constitution to provide hope for Kenya's future by preventing a recurrence of the deadly violence that has followed past elections and by addressing the corruption that plagues this eastern African country. However, the apparent hijacking of this reform process by special interests and the blatantly undemocratic and potentially illegal contribution by the Obama administration give cause for grave concern as to what this document portends for Kenya's ...

The Kenyan president wants a new constitution, one that opens the door to abortion on demand. President Obama is willing to use U.S. taxpayer dollars to persuade voters to approve the updated governing document, which would loosen regulations designed to protect the unborn, establish Muslim family courts and create a right to homosexual marriage. It's not unusual that Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki would see enactment of the provisions as a "government project," but Mr. Obama is on shaky legal ground when he commits U.S. government resources to it.
On Aug. 4, Kenya's 12.3 million registered voters will be asked a simple question: "Do you approve the proposed new constitution?" It is doubtful that many will have the opportunity to read the entire 206-page document, which was created by a c...

NAIROBI, Kenya - On his first trip to Kenya as a student, Barack Obama lost his luggage, suffered through a car breakdown and conducted family business with chickens on his lap.
It was a far different scene Friday with leaders of rival political factions jockeying to stand with the Democratic senator from Illinois during red-carpet receptions and adoring street crowds.

About 50 parishioners were locked into the Assemblies of God church before it was set ablaze. They were mostly women and children. Those who tried to flee were hacked to death by machete- wielding members of a mob numbering 2,000.
The 2008 New Year Day atrocity in the Kenyan village Eldoret, about 185 miles northwest of Nairobi, had all the markings of the Rwanda genocide of a decade earlier.
