By the end of the year, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs expects Western Kentucky military vets to be able to visit a VA medical clinic at Hanson, north of Madisonville, rather than having to travel to Paducah, Ky., Evansville, Marion, Ill., or other VA facilities for health care. The clinic is one of four approved recently for the Marion VA Center service area. Others, all of which are scheduled to be in service by 2006, are to be located at Mayfield, Ky., Owensboro, Ky., and Vincennes, Ind.
