COURTLAND - Mary Katherine Clements, 57, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at her home surrounded by her daughters and two special angels June 3, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 9, 1951, in Richmond, Va., Kathy was raised in Courtland by the late Lawrence Allen "Dick" and Katherine Thornton Clements.
She is survived by her two daughters, Katie Cobb and husband Joey of Drewryville and Kelly Iles and husband Brian of Santa Clarita, Calif.; six beloved grandchildren, Cullen, Zachary, Mary-Katherine and Tucker Cobb and Brandon and Avery Iles; two sisters, Carolyn Purvis and husband Robbie of Franklin and Nancy Owen and husband Edward of Richmond; and a large, loving extended family.

DAYTON -- The three-judge panel that convicted Reginald Tucker of aggravated murder spared his life Monday, though Tucker maintained his innocence after receiving a life sentence.
Judges Mary Katherine Huffman, Gregory F. Singer and Michael L. Tucker of Montgomery County Common Pleas Court deliberated about two hours before deciding not to sentence the defendant to death in the Nov. 27, 2005, shooting of Antoinette "Toni" Hollingsworth.

Katherine Rhoads Tucker of Santa Fe earned second honors for academic accomplishments during the fall 2005 semester at Georgetown University. Undergraduates receiving second honors earned a grade- point average of 3.7 or better on a 4.0 scale.

Many Americans are like a loaf of bread - soft, with one side round. Their choice of bread may be part of the reason. Some researchers say white bread and refined grains seem to hang out as belly fat.
Waist circumference was very much associated with this high- refined grains pattern," said Katherine Tucker, an associate professor of nutritional epidemiology at Tufts University in Boston. She and other scientists are studying what happens to the bodies of people who eat lots of refined bread.

LEWISTON - Andrea Tucker and Benjamin Tucker III of Norway are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Lynn Tucker of Lewiston, to Peter Scott Cushman also of Lewiston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cushman of Norway and Cynthia Cushman of Norway.
Miss Tucker is a 2002 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and is currently employed as a phlebotomist at Central Maine Medical Center of Lewiston.
