  • A remodel of a Battle Ground, Wash., fire station was honored with a national design award. Karl Johansson of Johansson Architecture took a bronze award in the Fire Chief's 2007 Station Style Design Awards for the remodel of Station 11-2 for Fire District No. 11 in Battle Ground. The project, which wrapped in February, transformed a 1970s-era station into a modern, fully functional station.
