To avoid the futile battle of mudslinging, majflbe we should ask them some real questions. Questions such as, "What are your plans for reducing the STD rates amid Black teenagers?" "Why won't you talk directly to OPEC about the high gas?" "What are your plans for curbing the number of 'justifiable homicides' of young Black and Brown men being killed by our police departments?" "Why won't you discuss means to utilize our own farms, instead of China, for more food?" "How will you ensure that our young men will graduate from high school and be able to go to college?" "Why won't you get rid of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and implement Free Americans " From Trade Agreements (FAFTA)?" With FAFTA, a brother can at least bid for a job in America instead of moving to Vietnam ...
WASHINGTON, Nov. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The nation's homicide rate fell to 4.8 homicides per 100,000 U.S. residents in 2010, its lowest level in four decades, the Bureau of Justice Statistics announced today. Much of the decline was in the nation's largest cities, those with a population of one million or more, where the homicide rate dropped dramatically from 35.5 homicides per 100,000 U.S. residents in 1991 to a low of 11.9 per 100,000 in 2008. The sharp increase in homicides from the mid-1980s through the early 1990s, and much of the subsequent decline, is attributable to gun violence by teens (age 14 to 17) and young adults (age 18 to 24). Despite the recent decline, the number of gun homicides committed by teens and young adults in 2008 remained similar to the counts o...

WASHINGTON, April 1 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Amnesty International USA (AIUSA) released today a document announcing that TASER-related deaths in the United States and Canada have hit triple digits growing from 74 in November 2004 to 103. The new number covers June 2001 to March 2005. Additionally, AIUSA presented evidence proving that Taser International, Inc., has been misleading the public and law enforcement about the number of lives allegedly saved by TASERs. AIUSA admits that lives have undoubtedly been saved by TASERs and welcomes any news that there has been a decrease in fatal shootings by law enforcement, but a review of the cases on Taser's Website actually provided more evidence to support Amnesty International's conclusion that there is widespread abuse of TASERs that, in some c...

News Advisory: Amnesty International will release FRIDAY, APRIL 1, new figures documenting that there have been 103 TASER-related deaths in the United States and Canada between June 2001 and March 2005. The information comes as Taser International, Inc., (TASR) has tried to divert attention from this staggering figure by focusing on a fictitious number of lives allegedly saved by TASERs. AIUSA admits that lives have undoubtedly been saved by TASERs, but after reviewing the cases on the company's website, the organization will demonstrate that Taser International, Inc.'s claims are statistically impossible. The new information shows that TASER- related deaths have occurred in 25 states and Canada, and the number of deaths has increased by 94 percent since June 2001. In the first thre...

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - A day after he turned 21, Lorenzo Matthews was killed under murky circumstances by suburban Atlanta's DeKalb County police in the department's ninth fatal shooting this year - more than New York City has recorded. The toll has led to an independent review of police training and use-of-force procedures and brought lawsuits and protests in the county, which has both pockets of poverty and some of the most affluent black neighborhoods in America.
