I fully agree with "Bias in Supreme Court?" (Other Views, April 10), that U.S. Supreme Court justices who are the gatekeepers for the use and abuse of the Constitution of the United States must be held to the highest ethical code.

I want the justices of the Supreme Court of the United States of America to know that I believe it is their duty to base their decisions on the U.S. Constitution. It is a violation of their oath of office to base decisions on foreign decisions or practices.
There is no provision in the Constitution for basing any decision on anything but the Constitution and not on the practice of any foreign government or people. We are a sovereign nation and must remain that way regardless of treaties or foreign entanglements.

Governor's final State of State speech focused on five key areas
It's easy to next-day quarterback Gov. Gary Locke's State of the State address. But before we do, we think it is worth acknowledging that Locke's speech was directed at a variety of audiences from the president of the United States and Supreme Court justices, to state lawmakers and every-day citizens. And he clearly has far too many people to try to please.
