Police said the man who crashed through the front of a shopping plaza Tuesday morning said he attempted to stop for a vehicle in front of him, but hit the accelerator instead of the brake and lost control of his car. Scottie Ramirez, 18, of 51 Park St., West Haven, crashed into the front window of Justice -- Just for Girls, at 1075 W. Main St., around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Neither Ramirez nor any employees or customers were injured during the crash.
