JACKSON - Mississippi authorities are reviewing the case of a black man who was found hanging dead from a tree after relatives claimed the state's deputy medical examiner can't be trusted because he falsified information about a British woman's death while he was working in Africa .
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety said it began its investigation Monday after allegations surfaced that Dr. Adel Shaker falsified information in the 1998 death of Julie Ward, a British tourist killed on a visit to Kenya. Shaker was a pathologist in Kenya at the time.

The Hart junior reaffirmed her status as one of the area's elite golfers with back-to-back strong rounds at Vista Valencia Golf Course, following a 1-under 32 in a nonleague match Monday by securing medalist honors again Tuesday in the second round of league play with a 35.

Kendall Dusenberry appeared on her way to medalist honors at the Foothill League match at Balboa Golf Course, playing the first six holes at 2 under, before the Purdue commit finished her round 6 over on the final three holes.
