The state's chief judge wants to see most 16 and 17-year-old offenders prosecuted through family courts instead of adult criminal courts. Speaking Wednesday before the Citizens Crime Commission of New York City, Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman said better outcomes would be achieved for everyone by adjudicating less serious, non-violent crimes in family court.

Jonathan Eaton moved to Pittsburgh 11 years to become artistic director of Opera Theater Pittsburgh. He was born in Morogoro, Tanzania, where his father worked as an engineer in the British colonial service.
