SALT LAKE CITY -- Jon and Karen Huntsman have announced the 2011 recipients of the Huntsman Awards for Excellence in Education. The 10 teachers, administrators and volunteers will be recognized at a banquet Friday for their commitment to children of all ages in the state. The winners will each receive $10,000. This marks the 19th year the Huntsmans have conducted the awards, which recognize remarkable administrators and teachers from all different subjects and grade levels. Nominations for the awards are made by students or fellow colleagues, then vetted by an awards committee that makes the final selections.
MUSKEGON, Mich., Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The law firm of Howard & Howard Attorneys represents the Muskegon County Wastewater Management System (MCWMS) - one of the nation's most progressive wastewater treatment facilities. MCWMS announced today that it is seeking proposals from utility-scale wind developers interested in siting a project on 11,000 acres of MCWMS property near Lake Michigan. Rodger Kershner and Jon Kreucher of Howard & Howard, who both specialize in the firm's energy and utilities practice, were selected by the MCWMS to solicit proposals from reputable wind developers. Kershner and Kreucher will offer advice and guidance during subsequent deliberations.
ROCHESTER -- Darcy Regier and Ted Black were both freely tossing around the "Sabres University" moniker today in Blue Cross Arena, and Black went one step further when he introduced Ron Rolston as the "first professor at the University of Sabres." That's otherwise known as the new head coach of the Rochester Amerks. It's an out-of-the-box hire when you're putting a coach with no pro experience in the AHL, but Rolston has a combined 20 years with the US National Development Team and as an assistant in major Division I college hockey. And he's not unfamiliar to Regier, who said he met Rolston several years ago in Lake Placid through Jon Christiano, the Sabres' director of pro scouting, and has followed his work since with the US program.
