When most people hear John Lennon's name, they think of The Beatles. As true as that may be, John was more than just Beatle. He wasn't just a vision of prominence; he was a legend in his time.
John Winston Lennon was born Oct. 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England, and named after his grandfather John and Winston Churchill. Lennon had a somewhat tumultuous early childhood with a largely absent father (due to World War II) and heated custody battles when he did return.

"We All Shine On: The Artwork of John Lennon," running Thursday through Sunday, is returning to Montclair after a five-year absence. Limited edition prints of the late Beatle's sketches, watercolors and doodlings are available for purchase, at prices ranging from $200 to $20,000. A suggested $2 admission will benefit the Salvation Army of Montclair.
