The Obama administration's new counterterrorism strategy - the first since the killing of Osama bin Laden last month - will focus on would-be terrorists in the United States who are inspired by al Qaeda's "hateful ideology," the president's top adviser for homeland security and counterterrorism said Wednesday.
This is the first counterterrorism strategy that focuses on the ability of al Qaeda and its network to inspire people in the United States to attack us from within," John Brennan said in an address at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies.

Mr. John W. Johns, age 62, of Augusta, entered into rest on Sunday morning, November 19, 2006 at his residence.
A native of Haynesville, La., he had resided in the Atlanta area for many years until moving to the Augusta area in 2001. Mr. Johns had worked as a Professional Geologist for Sailor's Engineering in Lawrenceville, Ga. for approximately 20 years. He had graduated from Birmingham Southern University where he earned his Degree in Geology. A model train enthusiast and collector, he was also a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam conflict from where he was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism.
