• Never Souled Out! Soul Jamboree

[NATALIE SWEET] knew something like that could happen back in Pittsburgh. Her hometown already has two successful monthly soul nights: Justin "Juddy" Hopper and "Soccer" John Greenwell's Soulcialism at the White Eagle, and Restless! at the Smiling Moose, presented by James David Riel, a.k.a. DJ Ri'el. And though they take place on alternating Fridays and are located just a few blocks apart on the South Side, they still draw different crowds. One reason is the bars' different clientele; another is that each spins a different sort of soul. • Proud Dad Missed Hurricane Coast Guardsman Left New Orleans for Daughter's Birth

Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer John Greenwell fled New Orleans last Sunday, not running from a hurricane named Katrina but running to a baby named Michele. Greenwell's wife, Elizabeth, who lives in Newburgh, gave birth to Michele at Deaconess Women's Hospital on Monday.

• New Pub Opening On Oct. 6

Newburgh is getting a new family dining and entertainment center, called Beef O'Brady's Family Sports Pub. The business - expected to especially attract community sports groups and high school and other youth sports enthusiasts - will open Oct. 6, according to John Greenwell, one of the pub's franchisees.

ORANGE, TX - John E. "Bud" Alderson passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at the home of his daughter, Janice Greenwell of Orange, Texas. John attended schools in Buena and Toppenish and worked in various agricultural jobs in the valley. He loved music and had a western band on the radio at one time.

• 2 Sky Divers Collide in Midair, One Killed

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (AP) -- Two sky divers collided about 200 feet above the ground and their parachutes deflated, causing the divers to plummet, authorities said. One later died. John Kevin Benningfield, 33, was pronounced dead at Flaget Memorial Hospital, Nelson County Coroner Joseph Greenwell said Sunday.
