Several weeks into the "Occupy Wall Street" movement, sanitation is becoming a problem. It only fitting that the occupiers have staged themselves at Zuccotti Park, a private New York City park, owned by Brookfield Office Properties and named after its chairman, John Zuccotti.
And, mind you, it is companies like Brookfield that the occupiers are protesting. But just as they do not understand the need to clean up after themselves, neither do they understand what they are protesting. As they lie in they own filth, they demand government- assisted help. They are lost in a world that operates sufficiently through human action and ingenuity; the occupiers operate as second- hand users of the instruments of the economy. BROOKFIELD
The seventh-grade team from St. John Vianney, Brookfield, won the academic competition held at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in Milwaukee. The St. John Vianney team also received several awards. Team members Madeline Bunke, Chelsea Crooks, Lizzie Altschaefl and Colleen Gleason placed first in the competition, which included separate competitions in science, math, social studies and English. In the individual competition, Madeline Bunke placed third, and earned a partial DSHA scholarship. The sixth- grade team placed second in the Science competition. Stephanie Yordan received a partial DSHA scholarship for her accomplishments in the fine arts competition.

A Connecticut man who traveled to Bergen County, allegedly to have sex with an 8-year-old girl, was arrested on Thursday and charged with attempted aggravated sexual assault, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
James E. Briggs, 28, of Brookfield, Conn., was being held at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack on $60,000 bail. He was also charged with luring and attempted endangerment of the welfare of a minor.
