VIRGINIA BEACH - of the 3700 block of Lake Tahoe Trail, born Aug. 29, 1934, passed away Nov. 11, 2007. He was the son of the late John and Beatrice Walker Sr. He graduated from Princess Anne County Training School and George Washington University. He joined the U.S. Air Force, where he received an honorable discharge. John was involved as a Prince Hall Mason of Oceana Lodge No. 69, a 32nd Degree Mason of Alpha and Omega Consistory No. 9 and a Shriner of Arabia Temple No. 12. John joined Pioneer Lodge No. 1412 Virginia Beach in the early 1960s. He held the following positions: Exalted Ruler, secretary, house chairman, chaplain, past state president, past Grand Exalted Ruler, Grand Inspector, Deputy Emeritus, treasurer for the Deputy Association and past Chief Antler. NORFOLK - John Gayle Walker Jr., passed from this world Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at the age of 81. He was born June 5, 1928, the son of the late John Gayle and Ethel Diggs Walker of Mathews, Va.
Mr. Walker's family moved to Norfolk when he was in his teens and following his graduation from Maury High School, he worked 29 years with the Great Atlantic & Pacific Co. A Ghent resident, he was a member of Colonial Avenue Methodist Church.

Clarice graduated from Bangor High School in 1929, Emerson College in 1933 and Syracuse University in 1944. She taught speech, drama and English at Solon High School, at Houlton High School, and in Huntington, N.Y. Clarice delighted in receiving letters and visits from former students who told her of the impact she and her teaching had made in their lives. In 1945 she married John Douglas Walker Jr. and after World War II, they returned to Houlton, where she was active in AAUW and First Church of Houlton, Unitarian- Universalist.
