Funeral services for CSM Jessie James Robinson, 59, will be held at 11 a.m., today, March 27, 2004, at Science Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Robinson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with full military honors.
The remains will lie in state in the church from 10 a.m., until the hour of service.

Washington took over the reins of the Sentinel as publisher upon the death of her husband in 1974. She had successfully managed the Sentinel since 1947 when "Wash" suffered a crippling stroke. She took the paper to new heights with such able employees as J. Robert Smith, Edward Burbridge, S. Cole, as section editors; Charles Williams, J.D. CSM Jessie James Robinson, 59, of Grayson Avenue, entered into rest March 17, 2004 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Science Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Robinson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
CSM Robinson was a native of Edgefield County. He joined the Science Hill Baptist Church at an early age and later united with the Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. He was a member of Antioch Male Chorus and the Noble Star Lodge No. 277. Jesse retired March 2004 after serving 34 years in the U.S. Air Force and the Texas Army National Guard.
