of 3925 London Road, Hopewell, departed this life suddenly on Saturday May 9, 2009, at John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell.
Jerry accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Union Baptist Church by Dr. Curtis Harris. He attended Hopewell and Ettrick public schools and also served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin D.R. Lee Sr. of Baton Rouge, La., and his grandparents, Albert and Lue Jones of Hopewell.

NORFOLK - Jerry Lee "Smitty" Smith, 71, a native of Dubuque, Iowa, went to be with the Lord May 31, 2010.
He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and June Smith and his beloved wife, Katherine "Kitty" Smith. Jerry served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and retired from civil service. He bowled at Pinboy Military with Pinbusters, loved Lou's Hot Dogs, and was an avid NASCAR Jeff Gordon fan.
