Three members of the Redlands High School speech and debate team placed in the top 10 in the state in their categories at the California High School Speech Association tournament at San Diego State University. They are Gia Karpouzis, who earned fourth place in impromptu, Jen Salazar, who took seventh place in expository, and Boston Topping, who placed eighth in impromptu.

University of New Haven women's lacrosse coach Jen Fallon has an eye on the postseason. Considering that there is no East Coast Conference tournament and adding in the fact that NCAA Division II Tournament only takes four teams, it is a lofty goal. The Chargers may be a year or two away from realizing postseason dreams but Fallon certainly has UNH on the right path.
