An estimated 11,000 Jehovah's Witnesses from Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana are expected to come to Evansville over the weekends of June 10-12 and June 17-19 for the ninth annual convention at Roberts Stadium. It is similar to 381 other conventions taking place in 98 cities across the United States.
The convention will cover a specialized program dealing with Jehovah's Witnesses practice and serves as a reminder to the followers of the religion to apply the principles of the Bible in their everyday lives.

The dramatic skit performed yesterday during a convention in Columbia could have been about any typical family: A dad tries to juggle extra hours at work, mounting bills and a household that includes two unruly teenagers.
But the message had a spiritual side. Dad ultimately learned the family needed to first look to the kingdom of God and that would prove to be enough to overcome the drudgery of daily life.

The annual convention will draw in more than 5,000 Jehovah's Witnesses from West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio and Maryland, said Jim Houston, an elder at the Glenville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. The event is an opportunity for people to come together and celebrate their faith.

PORTLAND, Maine -- More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the annual convention of Maine Jehovah's Witnesses on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The theme for the convention at the Cumberland County Civic Center is "Safeguard Your Heart," according to a press release issued by the denomination's national headquarters in New York City.

Congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses from Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee are wrapping up a two-weekend district convention today at Roberts Stadium.
Saturday's meetings drew attendance of 4,775. Today's programs, which begin at 11:10 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. are open to the public.

AUGUSTA -- Approximately 2,000 Jehovah's Witnesses from central Maine will gather for their annual special assembly day on Sunday, April 24. This one-day meeting will be held at the Civic Center, 76 Community Drive.
The scriptural theme for this assembly will be "Take refuge in Jehovah (Psalm 118:8,9)". The sessions featuring talks and interviews will start at 9:40 a.m. and will conclude at 4 p.m.
