AMERICA'S recurring gun massacres, and many other violent U.S. tragedies, have a common cause, according to one of the nation's top psychologists.
Dr. Jeffrey Lieberman, psychiatry chairman at Columbia University, says nearly all the killers are emotionally disturbed. "These incidents are notable for the clear signs of mental instability in the perpetrators," he wrote in a newspaper commentary.
