For years, folks have been telling me I needed to go to The Swinging Bridge Restaurant located in the hamlet ("town" would be too generous a term) of Paint Bank in Craig County. With spring in full bloom, it was the perfect opportunity for two leisurely drives through the Jefferson National Forest with the kids.
Situated in the back of a general store and gas station, the aptly named restaurant has its own indoor swinging bridge. It also sports bar stools made of tractor seats and a large stone fireplace that, combined with a menagerie of stuffed wildlife ranging from bears to rattlesnakes, makes you think you're eating in a hunting lodge.
