JEFFERSON TWP., Montgomery County -- A research project focusing on teen stress earned recognition at Ohio's 11th annual Youth for Justice Summit for a team of junior high school students from Jefferson Local School District. Mary Walker, adviser for the 10-member team, presented a plaque and two certificates -- one from Supreme Court Justice Thomas Moyer and the other from Gov. Bob Taft -- to members of the Jefferson Twp. Board of Education at the May 9 meeting.

- Jefferson Twp. Schools Disagree with Audit Findings
JEFFERSON TWP., Montgomery County -- Jefferson Twp. Local School District officials said they take exception to several state performance audit recommendations that state officials said will save taxpayers more than $2.4 million annually. State Auditor Mary Taylor on Tuesday, June 10, released the district's audit, the second since 2003 when the Ohio Department of Education placed the district in fiscal watch because of an anticipated general fund deficit of $347,335.
