Q: You're the defending champion of the Nationals' fantasy football league. Who were your key guys?
A: Yes, that's right. I win. Last year I built a team off of good trading and quality drafting. My top (three) picks or so were Willie Parker, Marvin Harrison, Cedric Benson, and I flipped all of them for less hurt, better players down the stretch - really traded better players for less better players and made out with some good trades. I improved my team at the halfway point.

The Washington Nationals have lost their fair share of games in crushing fashion during this trying season. So Friday night's 3-2 defeat to the St. Louis Cardinals - in which Albert Pujols slammed the game-winning homer off Jason Bergmann to lead off the bottom of the ninth - shouldn't have stung so much.
But it did. Never before during their previous 82 losses this year had the Nationals felt like they'd been punched in the gut quite like this.

Years from now, they probably won't talk about the night they came to Nationals Park and watched the home team beat the Baltimore Orioles in an exhibition game.
They won't remember that Jason Bergmann threw the first pitch (a low fastball to Brian Roberts) or that Nick Johnson recorded the first hit (a blooper to center) or that Cristian Guzman scored the first run (on Johnson's first-inning single).

Milton Bradley homered and had three RBIS and the Chicago Cubs scored six runs in the eighth inning en route to a 9-4 victory over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday at Wrigley Field.
Bradley hit a two-run homer in the third and broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh with a run-scoring fielder's choice off reliever Jason Bergmann (2-3).

They're going to do great. The boys are getting used to the heat," says Washington Nationals wife Jarah Bergmann , who is married to pitcher Jason Bergmann .

WASHINGTON -- There is a reason Washington pitcher Jason Bergmann lugged a 1-8 record to the mound in Nationals Park to face the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday, Aug. 2.
And when the Reds exposed him by scoring five runs in the second inning and chasing him from the mound after six, they owned a four- run lead.

Nationals 1, Mets 0
Willie Harris' diving catch in the ninth inning saved Washington, and the Nationals won in New York Thursday as Jason Bergmann pitched seven sharp innings, giving up three hits and striking out nine while not allowing a runner past second.

One by one, they went down. First John Patterson. Then Shawn Hill. Then Jerome Williams. Then Jason Bergmann.
Four-fifths of the Washington Nationals' starting rotation went on the disabled list in a span of 12 days, and any hope the club had of remaining competitive likely was gone.
