The colorful display in the showcase at the Katsuhana food stand in Edgewater looks so real it even fooled the health inspector. But you'll be the one doing a double take over a meal of tender and juicy Berkshire pork for as little as $6 (the meat comes from a special breed of black pigs).
This new entry in the food court of Mitsuwa Marketplace, the Japanese supermarket in Edgewater, specializes in tonkatsu, a pork cutlet that is dipped in an egg batter, covered with large panko bread crumbs and deep fried. It is served with soup, rice, cabbage and potato salads, pickles and dipping sauces.

Sometimes a review isn't what I have in mind when I go to a restaurant. Sometimes I'm just going to grab a bite and while I'm eating I think, "Hmm, people should know about this place." That's what happened at Osaka. We just wanted to try a new place for sushi and ended up finding a little gem tucked away in Cordova and a bigger gem all the way out in Collierville. (Sigh; that's a haul for those of us who live inside the loop.)
