Gov. Joe Manchin said his meetings in New York City included a session with the ambassador of Japan and with the head of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York. During the Wednesday meetings Tsutomu Karino, the head of the Japanese chamber, "invited me to come back up next Wednesday for their meeting," Manchin said today in a phone interview. The Japanese chamber sometimes has as many as 1,000 members attend its events, he said.
