Sensational Strings: Ring in the new year in classic style when the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra presents its "Sensational Strings" concert. [Jawole Willa Jo Zollar] and Urban Bush Women (UBW) kick off their 25th anniversary season, a three-part retrospective of ZoIlar's works, with "Zollar: Uncensored" as part of their "Season of Returns," January 20-23. For this part of the "Return," Zollar revisits earlier investigations into the erotic and sensual realm of women. Deemed "too controversial" for touring in the 1980s, excerpts from "LifeDance II: The Papess. . .Mirror in the Waters," "Heat," "My Female Hand" and "Hands Singing Song" make up "Zollar: Uncensored.
Inspired by the lynching of Laura Nelson and her son in Okemah, OkIa., on May 25, 1911, Love brings together filmmaker/documentarian Rhonda Haynes; jazz musician Antoine Roneos Africa Project trio; and the visual artwork from artist/sculptor Ed Love.

Two dance classes begin in January at the Redlands Community Center. Line dance class for fitness runs Jan. 8 through Jan. 29 and meets 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Thursdays. Cost is $12 per person for the four-week class. Ballroom dance class, including foxtrot and East Coast swing, runs Jan. 5 to Feb. 23 and meets 7:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays. Cost is $42 per person for the six-week class. No previous dance experience necessary; no partners needed. Dress is casual. Classes are for teenagers through adults. Cal Senechal is the instructor.
