AMESBURY, Mass. - Mrs. , 75, formerly of Ward Hill, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 16, 2011, at Amesbury Village, Amesbury, Mass. She was born Dec. 31, 1935, in Bangor, daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Rush) Sheehan.
Educated in the Bangor school system, Mrs. Atkins earned her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital, Portland. For more than 25 years she was employed in the emergency room of Hale Hospital, where she retired from in the early 1990s as a supervisor.

Miss Ward is the granddaughter of the late John and Lillian Franklin of North Charleston, S.C. and the late Herbert and Lennette Ward of Ladson, S.C. She is a 1999 graduate of USC - Aiken with a B.A. in History and a 2007 graduate of Seattle University School of Law. She is employed by the SC Attorney General's Office.
