Manifestó que lo más inmediato es dar luz verde a un proyecto de ley que ya se ha preparado este es "Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention ACT". Con ello se podrá mejorar el sistema penitenciario y se trabajará para ayudar a los jóvenes que no tienen muchas oportunidades en las cárceles de la nación. Sánchez manifestó, al igual que [Janet Murgu]ía, que lo más inmediato es aprobar la iniciativa de ley antes mencionada, aprobar fondos económicos de ayuda y promover alternativas a los centros de detención entre otras salidas positivas que ayuden no sólo al sistema penitenciario si no también a los jóvenes latinos que tienen problemas en la sociedad.

• Arellano Félix Busca Amparo a La Extradición

La Procuraduría General de la República (PGR) emitió un comunicado la tarde del martes en el que informó: "el Gobierno de México concedió al Gobierno de Estados Unidos de América la extradición de Alberto Benjamín Arellano Félix, (a) "Benjamín Arellano Félix"; (a) "El Señor"; (a) "El Min"; (a) "76"; (a) "7-7"; (a) "MK"; (a) "Licenciado Sánchez" y "Licenciado Alegría", quien es requerido para ser procesado ante la Corte Federal de Distrito para el Distrito Sur de California, en el séptimo proceso superveniente número 97CR2520-K de fecha 4 de diciembre de 2003".
