KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Former Virginia standout Ralph Sampson is one of eight members of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame's induction class of 2011. Sampson is the first Virginia player to be selected for induction into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.
The induction class, which was announced on Monday (Feb. 28), includes players Chris Mullin, Cazzie Russell, James Worthy and Sampson, coaches Bob Knight and Eddie Sutton, and contributors Eddie Einhorn and Joe Vancisin.

Six candidates are seeking three seats on the East Aurora School Board. They are: Jessica Byrnes Armbrust; Daniel Brunson; Judy Malys; Nicole Morris-McLaughlin; James Whitcomb; and Stephen Zagrobelny.
All were invited to tell distrct residents why they are worthy of their vote.

Former Yale basketball coach Joe Vancisin was among eight coaches, players and contributors inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame during ceremonies were at the historic Midland Theatre in Kansas City, Mo., Sunday.
Joining Vancisin, who was inducted as contributor, is a member of the hall's sixth class and included players Ralph Sampson of Virginia; North Carolina's James Worthy; Cazzie Russell of Michigan; Chris Mullin of St. John's; coaches Bob Knight and Eddie Sutton; and television sports pioneer Eddie Einhorn.

When you think of the University of North Carolina's basketball program, certain names come to mind: Dean Smith, James Worthy, Rasheed Wallace, Bob McAdoo, Sam Perkins and, of course, Michael Jordan.

Knight, Sutton lead Hall of Fame class KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Bob Knight and Eddie Sutton, coaching rivals and longtime friends, led an eight-member class inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday night. Knight and Sutton were joined at the Sprint Center along with three-time Naismith Award winner Ralph Sampson of Virginia, former Michigan star Cazzie Russell, North Carolina standout James Worthy, St. John's star Chris Mullin, and contributors Joe Vancisin and Eddie Einhorn. The eight inductees represent the fifth class honored by the Hall of Fame. The ceremony tips off a three-day college basketball celebration that includes the championship rounds of the CBE Classic.
