Mr. James Marvin Vaughan, 60, of 2504 S. 57th St., Philadelphia, departed this life Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008 at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, of which Marvin was a native until he relocated to Philadelphia in 2003.
Marvin's life journey began Aug. 4, 1947 in Petersburg. He was born to James and Frances Vaughan. He was preceded in death by his father, James Vaughan; brother, Paul Vaughan; daughter, Andrea "Marvette" Vaughan; and grandparents, Frank and Irene Washington.

SUFFOLK - James Edward Vaughan, 76, died Nov. 22, 2006. He was a native of Suffolk, the son of the late Mattie Benton Vaughan and Urban Bryant Vaughan. In 1971, James retired from the U.S. Air Force and later went on to retire from the City of Suffolk's Sheriff's Department. He was a member of Whaleyville United Methodist Church and also a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge No. 685 where he served as past Exalted Ruler and past District Deputy. Other memberships included the Progressive Mens Club of Suffolk, Whaleyville Ruritan Club, Suffolk Moose Lodge and the American Legion. James was a U.S. Air Force veteran after serving during the Korean War and Vietnam War.

A funeral service for Mr. James O. Vaughan Sr. of 1212 Arlington St., Petersburg, who entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at the chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, 102 South Ave., Petersburg, the Rev. Howard L. Moses Sr., pastor of The Lord's Church, Ettrick, officiating. Interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at the funeral establishment.

A funeral service for Mr. James Marvin Vaughan will be held at noon Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Third Baptist Church, 550 Farmer St., Petersburg, Va., the Rev. Leroy Cherry, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
Honorary and active pallbearers are asked to assemble 11:30 a.m. at the church.
