MAQUOKETA, Iowa - The Community Foundation of Jackson County is seeking grant applications from nonprofit groups serving Jackson County and area communities. Remaining grant deadlines for 2011 are Sept. 1 and Nov. 1.
Nonprofit groups and organizations serving Jackson County and the area immediately surrounding the county are encouraged to apply for grant funding, particularly those focused on human service needs in the area. The grant application, along with funding priorities and restrictions, can be found on the Community Foundation's website, www.cfofjc.org. The application has changed slightly from last year's format, so applicants are advised to review it and call the foundation with questions.

MAQUOKETA, Iowa - The Maquoketa Area Community Foundation has changed its name. Effective Aug. 1, the Foundation now operates as the Community Foundation of Jackson County.
This decision was made to better reflect the foundation's expanded focus and commitment to serving all of the Jackson County area.

Memorial scholarship established in Ripley
The Deborah Gandee Dudding Memorial Scholarship has been established at the Jackson County Community Foundation in Ripley. Dudding died in 1999 from cancer at age 55. Her family established the scholarship as a tribute for her years of service to children, especially those with speech and hearing problems.

The Community Foundation of Jackson County is accepting applications for the November grant cycle from nonprofit organizations and charitable entities that are in need of grant funding to enhance the greater Jackson County area.
Entities must serve a charitable purpose and are eligible to apply once per calendar year.
