BLOOMINGTON - The City Council on Monday will consider a two- year lease with an option for a third year with a new Central Hockey League franchise that will replace the Bloomington PrairieThunder at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. The lease among the city, Central Illinois Arena Management Inc. and Hockey Sensation LLC includes a required $100,000 irrevocable letter of credit from Hockey Sensation, something that was not included in the contract with PrairieThunder.
Insurance; Where a corporation’s commercial automobile insurance policy was, in reality, a fronting agreement with the same deductible amount and liability limit, and where the corporation was required to secure its obligations under the policy by an irrevocable letter of credit in the full amount of the retained liability, the risk of loss never shifted from the corporation, and it was, therefore, a self-insurer under the syllabus of Grange Mut. Cas. Co. v. Refiners Transport & Terminal Corp. (1986), 21 Ohio St.3d 47, 487 N.E.2d 310; under these circumstances, the policy was not subject to the statutory requirements concerning UM/UIM insurance.
