Memphis-based GTx Inc. said Wednesday it is ending a development deal with drug maker Ipsen Ltd. over the bone drug toremifene.
The drug is designed to reduce bone fractures in men who have prostate cancer and are being treated with androgen deprivation therapy, which can weaken bones. In 2009, the FDA asked for more information on the drug before considering it for approval. The company said it would have to conduct an additional study to have the drug application reviewed.
