The software company cut its losses in the fiscal third quarter, thanks to a more aggressive sales effort for its products. In a conference call, Kenneth A. Minor, chief financial officer of the Madison-based maker of systems for recording and broadcasting over the Internet, said he expects the company to break even in the fourth fiscal quarter, and make money next year. In trading after the earnings were released Tuesday, Sonic Foundry shares rose a penny to $1.84.
