MANAMA, Bahrain, March 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- After weeks of intense efforts by the Government to resolve the issue of worker reinstatements, a breakthrough agreement was signed on March 11, 2012 by Minister of Labor Jameel Humaidan, the President of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions (GFBTU), Salman Almahfoudh, and Othman Sharif, Vice-President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). The agreement was supported by representatives of the International Labor Organization (ILO) led by the Director of the International Labor Standards Department, Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry.
In the agreement all parties recognize the progress made on the reinstatements of workers dismissed, and lay out additional agreed steps to resolve the remaining reinstatement issue...

This proposed action sets forth identification and certification procedures established by the Shark Conservation Act to address shark conservation in areas beyond any national jurisdiction. The objectives of these procedures are to promote the conservation and sustainable management of sharks. Agency actions and recommendations under this rule will be in accordance with U.S. obligations under applicable international trade law, including the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement. This action would also amend the definition of illegal, unreported, or unregulated (IUU) fishing for purposes of the High Seas Driftnet Fishing Moratorium Protection Act.
