An international youth soccer tournament set for Tulsa next May will feature up to 80 teams and add $2.8 million to the Tulsa economy, organizers said.
Eddie Marles, AC Milan Youth Program coordinator for North and Latin America and Ray Hoyt, senior vice president of VisitTulsa and executive director of Tulsa Sports Commission, said the commission is creating the tournament in partnership with the international soccer club, during an announcement on Friday at Oneok Field in downtown Tulsa.

The city of Pico Rivera, along with Sensei and American Kempo Association President Luis Cobian hosted the matches Saturday, including some between blackbelts from the United States, Mexico and France as well as younger students from Pico Rivera, Highland Park and Arizona.

Parking lot owners should be ashamed
The blessings of capitalism were apparent in the parking lots surrounding HSBC Arena during the recent international hockey tournament. One can imagine the vendors of such spaces thinking the Santa Claus story to be true after all.

While some owners and general managers are certain to squawk about the logistical headaches created by the World Baseball Classic next spring, the Milwaukee Brewers endorse the endeavor with enthusiasm and it has nothing to do with the fact the team's former owner, Bud Selig, is the commissioner of Major League Baseball.
