Association of the American Law Schools Panel on the International Criminal Court - Panel Discussion A panel on the International Criminal Court, sponsored by the Sections on International Law and Criminal Justice of the Association of American Law Schools, took place at New Orleans, Louisiana, on January 9, 1999. The year 1999 marks the centennial of the first Hague Peace Conference, which encouraged the development of international criminal law. An important development since then is that individual officials, as well as states collectively, can be held accountable for abuses.

What is it that the International Baccalaureate program brings to our schools that we did not have before? Most of our children attended and graduated from Upper St. Clair schools before IB was offered prior to 1998. We can attest to the fact that they received a rigorous education that encouraged active learning. They are all well rounded, well-informed adults. Many of them are working in international jobs and some speak multiple languages.
The number of international students pursuing secondary education at United States (U.S.) universities has been increasing over the past 25 years, and is expected to continue into the foreseeable future.
