The muddy ground leading up to the 10th Mountain Ski Center gave way to trails of groomed snow and skiers everywhere. FORT KENT - The talk has started, committees have been meeting and banners are starting to wave in the winds along Main Street in preparation for the TD Banknorth Festival at Fort Kent where the final qualifying event for selection of the U.S. Biathlon Team for the 2006 Olympics will be held in late December and early January. While the event won't be as hyped as the World Cup and International Paralympic Committee celebrations of the last two years, the meet is expected to be intense for the country's 40 best female and male biathletes who will be vying for selection to the team that will represent the United States at the 2006 Winter Olympics at Torino, Italy, in February.
