The impact of international law on judicial independence has been influenced by international human rights treaties that contain principles on fair procedure and the right to be tried before an impartial and independent tribunal.2 International standards of judicial independence have made significant contributions to local rules, which have been reinforced by international jurisprudence.3 Some of the most influential international standards were drafted by professional nongovernmental and intergovernmental organizations. [Arthur Dudley II] received the Linda Hampton Award during the Black United Fund's 35th Anniversary Benefit Celebration. He recently completed his second maximum term as a director and BUF's chairman of the board. He also has served as BUF's treasurer.
I believe in BUF's mission," Dudley said. "BUF works with grassroots organizations and helps people who are really making a difference. It is a great honor to receive this award named in memory of Linda Hampton. She was the epitome of the volunteer spirit that shines within BUF.
